Hubert Buck Dornan, 87, died January 31, 2010. He was born August 30, 1922 in Checotah, Oklahoma to Ransie and Bertha (Storm) Dornan. A proud Army veteran from 42 to 46, he worked as a tank driver and gunner, serving in Europe and fighting in the Battle of the Bulge. He married Treva Louella Penny February 16, 1957. He worked for Goodman Construction as a lineman. He is preceded in death by father, Ransie Dornan, May 1974; mother, Bertha Storm Dornan, Oct. 1989; wife, Treva Dornan, May 1992 and brother in law, Virgil Dixon, Sept. 1999. He is survived by 3 sisters, Margaret Paxton and husband Clifford of Corpus Christi, TX, Theda Dixon of Checotah, OK, and Lois Tootsie Tobey and husband Hearold of Bakersfield, CA; nieces Carolyn Singleton, Jane Johnson and Kathy Neal; nephews Randy Dixon and Ronnie Tobey; 9 great-nieces and nephews; 9 great-great nieces and nephews and adopted family Sherry Ferrill, Harriet Bottrell, Amy Thompson, Leigh Ann Ferrill, Carrie Jobe & Presley, Bob & Mike Posey and all of their extended families. Services will be Wednesday, February 3, 10:00 a.m. at Mercer-Adams Chapel with interment in Greenlawn Cemetery, Checotah, OK at 2:00 p.m.
