Obituary

Fifty-two years ago Dec. 17, 1961, Hoyt Carl Cargal arrived as a tiny bundle to bless the home of Hoyt Cain and Julia (Judy) Nell Cargal in Bethany, OK. While Carlie was very limited in his expressions he endeared himself to many with his infectious smile, generous hugs and hi-fives. He spent much of his life at Northern Oklahoma Resource Center in Enid. Among his caregivers he was affectionately known as "our little sunshine boy". He was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Hoyt Chick Cargal, maternal grandparents, and father, Hoyt Cain Cargal. He is survived by his mother, Julia Copeland and her husband, John as well as three sisters, Marinelle Weaver of Tipton, IN, Julianne (Danny) Gremillion of Fairview, TX, and Christi (John) Ledo of Olathe, KS. He leaves behind three nephews, Michael Hoyt (Michelle) Weaver, Caleb Gremillion, and Carson Ledo as well as two nieces, Machelle (Teddy) Powers and Caroline Ledo. Pleasant memories include seeing Carl light up when Mom walked into the room. He had a smile for everyone but this was very special. He had a constant smile and seemed to be happy all the time. He had returned to the OKC area where he was cared for by special caregivers at the Duane House. They, too, let him wind his way into their hearts. For those who knew him, we all knew he loved to hold his magazines, turning and rustling the pages. Carl completed his earthly race Sept. 4, and slipped peacefully into the arms of Jesus. Carl wants to say a big thank you to the caregivers at Duane House, and the "big folks" too, for taking such good care of me and letting me be a little bit "all boy". Special thanks goes to each one at Sooner Hospice who spent time with his care. We deeply appreciate the affectionate care he received from the nurses and different teams at Integris Hospital during the past few weeks. We deeply appreciate your kindness. Although Carl was limited - he gave what he could - lots of smiles, hugs and hi-fives. The precious memories he left behind can never be replaced until we meet again. Family visitation will be Sunday, Sept. 7 from 7-8 p.m. at Mercer-Adams Funeral Service. A celebration completing his final race will be held at Calvary Bible Fellowship Center, Monday, Sept. 8 at 11:00 a.m. with his final resting place on this earth in the Bethany Cemetery. Today he is sitting at the feet of Jesus. Funeral Service Monday, September 8, 2014 11:00 AM Calvary Bible Fellowship 6606 N.W. 16th St. Oklahoma City, OK
