Howard Everett Downs, 71, from Oklahoma City, OK, went to be with our Lord and Savior on August 20, 2014, in the same hospital where he was born on October 28, 1942. He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Ione Downs; and a brother, Wayne Downs. Howard was a resident of Oklahoma City for 21 years and a former resident of Ponca City, OK for 23 years. Howard retired after 35 years with Conoco Pipeline, Co. in Ponca City and recently worked for Hayes Field Services in Edmond, OK as a Pipeline Field Inspector. He had an associate degree in electronic technology from the Central Technical Institute, Kansas City, Missouri. He was a lifelong member of the Goldwing Club, GWRRA and enjoyed many other activities. Howard is survived by his wife of 21 years, Nola Downs, of Oklahoma City; his son, Kevin Downs, of Ponca City; and grandchildren, Morgan and Garrett Downs. He was also much loved by his stepchildren, Hugh Foley, Sean Foley, Eileen Serres, Stephen Jones, and Richard Jones; as well as ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Howard may be viewed by family and friends at Mercer-Adams Funeral Service, 3925 N.
