Obituary

Howard Stanton Baker, 91, passed away November 7, 2020 in Oklahoma City. He was born August 25, 1929 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma to Curt and Bessie (Box) Baker. He married Oma Ruth Baker on September 6, 1974 in Texas. Howard retired as a Captain with the Oklahoma City Fire Department. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army. Howard loved fishing, OU Sooner football, Thunder basketball, roller blading/roller derby and animals. He loved to make people laugh and you could always find him dancing. His goal was to put a smile on everyones face. Howard loved his family, especially his great-grand kids. He was generous and always willing to help. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Oma Ruth Baker; daughter, Cheryl Lynn Baker; and sister, Pauline Stephens. He is survived by daughters, Rebecca Jones, Laura Vongchanyakul, and Janet Moat; 11 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and niece, Karen and her daughter, Emily. Viewing will be Monday, November 9, 2020, 9:00am-9:00pm at Mercer-Adams. Graveside service will be Tuesday, November 10, 2020, 1:00p.m. at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery. .
