Horace Carl Brooks, 91, Bethany, Oklahoma, went to be with the Lord on June 9, 2010. He was born June 1, 1919, near Waurika, Oklahoma, where he grew up. He married his beautiful bride, Faye, on August 21, 1942, then served his country in the Navy during World War II. After attending Cameron University and graduating from Oklahoma State University, he taught high school and later owned a heating and air conditioning company in Oklahoma City. His family was always a priority for him. Traveling (especially "Out West"), reading, gardening, wood crafts, and sports were life-long interests. He is survived by his wife of almost 68 years, two daughters and their husbands, two granddaughters and their husbands, five great grandchildren, one sister, many nieces and nephews, other family members, and friends. Generosity, a keen sense of humor, creativity, and a love for learning characterized his life. We were blessed to have him in our lives and our love for him will never end. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, June 16, at Mercer Adams Funeral Service, 3925 N. Asbury, Bethany, Oklahoma. Remembrance gifts can be made to Metropolitan Baptist Church, 7201 W. Britton Road, Oklahoma City 73132. (Note on check memo line: Library in memory of Horace Brooks).
