Hendrik Leonard Gulikers was born the fourth child to Amelia Irene and Hendrikus Leonardus Gulikers of Oklahoma City on May 14, 1968. He had three older sisters: Jennie Rosemarie Gardner, Yukon, Leona Irene Armstrong, Oklahoma City, and Angela Christine Kester, Mustang. Hendrik, lovingly called Rick, attended Northridge Elementary School, Central Middle School and graduated from Putnam City Original High School in 1988. He married the love of his life, Eva Mae Turner of Oklahoma City, on September 28, 1988. Their only child, Alexander Hendrik, was born June 8, 1989. Rick loved being a father, foremost, working on his classic sixty-nine Ford Comet, country music, his pet, Angel, and all dogs, and family cookouts. His hobbies included plumbing, electrical repairing, and he had begun courses in small motors and motorcycles. He often assisted in church functions with his dad and many friends. Although he suffered health issues, he remained light-hearted in spirit and steadfast in his faith. He was always a true inspiration to everyone who knew him. Rick joined our Heavenly Father on Sunday evening, November 16, 2008 after a long stay in Baptist Hospital Transplant I.C.U.
Memorial services will be Thursday, November 20, 10:00 a.m. at Epiphany Catholic Church, 7336 W. Britton Rd., Oklahoma City.
