Helen Barbara Romano, 92, passed away on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at her home in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Helen was born February 12, 1926 to Byron and Mary Skaggs in Navasota, Texas. She married Paul Romano in Austin, Texas in 1948. Helen was devoted to the love of her life, Paul Romano, for 65 years. Helen led a full life traveling the world with her husband and yet found time to be a foster parent to new born babies. Helen enjoyed playing the piano and her weekly bridge games. She was a dedicated mother of 6 children. Helen is survived by her children, Linda Ryter of Edmond, Oklahoma, Janet Galloway of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Nancy and John Willard of Yukon, Oklahoma, Paul Romano of Edmond, Oklahoma, Mark and Annette Romano of Oklahoma City, John and Pamela Romano of Edmond, Oklahoma; 14 grandchildren, Timothy, Joanna, Nicholas, Adam, Lauren, Tony, Dominic, Vincent, Loni, Katie, Claire, Gracie, Joseph and Sophia; 5 great grandchildren, Erika, Lia, Carter, Parker and Spencer. Helen was a great lady and touched many lives with her kindness. The family would also like to give a special thanks to LauraLynn's Homecare and their dedicated staff of caregivers. They took care of Helen for the past 3 years and became part of our family. Wake services for Helen will be held the evening of July 27 at 7:00 PM at Mercer Adams, 3925 North Asbury Avenue, Bethany, Oklahoma. The funeral will be held Saturday, July 28, 1:00 PM at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 5000 N Grove. Ave. Warr Acres, Oklahoma.
