Oklahoma City Itha Helen Neff, a long-time resident of the Oklahoma City area, died March 12, 2013. She was born in Booneville, Arkansas on September 3, 1921. Helen spent most of her life in Oklahoma. She grew up in Elk City OK, and attended Business school in Oklahoma City where she meet Rex; they were married April 2, 1950. Rex had adoring love for Helen and they were married for 61 years, a full and complete life of support and happiness with her best friend. June, 24 1962 they were blessed with the birth of their beloved son, John Neff. Helen's most important accomplishment was being John's mother. Her love for John was unconditional and Helen took pride that being John's Mom made her a better person. John truly is a blessing from God. Helen had many jobs, however, she began selling Stanley Home Products after John was born and selling Stanley was her passion. She made many friends while selling Stanley and won numerous awards and acknowledgements for being top sales person. She recruited many dealers and tried every day to recruit Rex. Rex would just laugh and said one sales person in the house was enough. Helen continued to sell Stanley until she passed. She recruited Ruby Nell and Willa and continued to sell until her passing. Heather says, "Aunt Helen was not only an aunt, she was my dear grandmother." They talked on the phone often and wrote notes to each other. Helen always had a current picture of Parker, Heather's son, and loved to brag to her friends. Helen was a long-time member of Putman City Baptist Church. Helen loved good food, barbecues, and picnics. Helen enjoyed socializing with family and friends. She enjoyed going to movies and plays with friends, and loved to read. Helen loved dogs and always had a Dachshund dog during her life. Helen had a wonderful smile that could light up a room and always opened her home to make time to visit and have a cup of coffee or strawberry shake. As Helen said, God has truly blessed me with a good life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to EARC, Nova Center, PO Box 268, Edmond, Oklahoma 73083.
