Our precious and beautiful Mom, Helen Davenport was called "Home" to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 26, 2013. She was born on November 1, 1922 in Gainseville, Texas to Kate and LaRoy Bridges, where as a young girl she was known as "Little Red". She graduated from Pauls Valley High School "Go Panthers!!" in 1941 and was a member of Eastern Star. She was a writer for the "Valley High Times" newspaper. On Christmas Day 1944, she married the love of her life, Bill Davenport. Our Mom lived life to the fullest, and never met a stranger. Helen was a life-long member of Putnam City Christian Church and was active in the Christian Women's Fellowship, her community and a member of the American Cancer Society "Relay for Life". She contributed to many local charities, particularly to the benefit of children and animals. She worked many years in high-end retail for Titche-Goettinger and Rothchilds. Her zest for life included enjoyment of travel, theater, arts, hosting parties for her "fans" and spending quality time with her two pumpkins "Kathy and Chris", family and a multitude of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Bill Davenport and siblings Mary Elizabeth Irwin and LaRoy Bridges. Survivors include her children Chris and Kathy Davenport, nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren and great-grandchild. Her "Celebration of Life" will be held at Putnam City Christian Church on Saturday, December 14th at 10am. Address: 4215 North Grove Avenue, Oklahoma City, OK 73122. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma at 3pm. Address: 1901 S Chickasaw St (US Highway 77), Pauls Valley, OK 73075.
