Hazel Irene Tice passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 24, 2009. She was born May 2, 1920 in Maud, Oklahoma. Raised in Braggs, Oklahoma, she and Travis Tice were married November 16, 1940 and had a loving and faithful marriage of more than 65 years. They returned to Oklahoma following his service in the United States Navy during World War II. After obtaining her degree in elementary education from Northeastern State University at Tahlequah, she taught in the public schools. She ended her career in Oklahoma City after teaching fifth graders at Windsor Hills Elementary School for many years. At heart she was a homemaker. Mom and Dad were members of Cherokee Hills Baptist Church in Putnam City for many years after moving to Oklahoma City from Claremore in the 1960s. They had many good friends in Claremore and Oklahoma City and were well-loved by all who knew them. Mom entered Bellevue Nursing Home in 1990, where she remained until her death. Mom and Dad are survived by their two children, Jim and his wife Marsha of Irvine, California, and Becky, of Oklahoma City; seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren: John and his wife Rebecca of Centennial, Colorado and their children Nicholas, Megan and Madeline, Suzanne and her husband Charles of Austin, Texas and their daughter Liesl, Andrew and his wife Hollie of Tempe, Arizona and their daughters Lauren and Ava, William of Centennial, Colorado and his children Mae and Austin, Timothy and his wife Christy of Edmond and their daughters Brooklyn and Avery, and Christina and Jennifer, both of Oklahoma City. To all who knew her she will be fondly remembered as a source of comfort and love. Goodness and mercy did follow her all the days of her life and now she does reside in the House of the Lord forever (Psalm 23). She will be missed. Services will be Tuesday, January 27, 10:00am at Rose Hill Mausoleum with interment in Rose Hill Burial Park.
