Hazel Lorene (Lunsford) Simmons-Keplinger, 90, passed away on February 28, 2024 in Bethany, OK. She was born on February 5, 1934 to Wilburn Hiley Lunsford, Sr. of Minco, OK and Lillie Louise Blakley Lunsford of Bethany, OK. Hazel graduated from Bethany High School in 1952. She married Dean Leroy Simmons on August 11, 1952 and they enjoyed many years together until his death in 1976. She was later married to Kenneth Aubrey Keplinger from 1983 to 1985.

Hazel worked at First National Bank of Bethany from the late 1970's to the early 1980's. She then worked at the Bethany Police Department as a records clerk until her retirement in 2018. She enjoyed traveling, puzzle books and crocheting and was known as the "cinnamon roll lady" at the Bethany Police Department.

Hazel was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband of 24 years, Dean Leroy Simmons; brother, Wilburn Hiley Lunsford, Jr.; son, Timothy Lee Simmons; and son-in-law, Russell Jay Harris.

She is survived by her daughters, Patty Jean Simmons-Harris and Brenda Kay Simmons; son, Michael Dean Simmons; daughter-in-law, Christi Simmons; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She will be greatly missed.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00am on Monday, March 4 at Bethany Cemetery.
