Hazel Virginia Newman, 96, of Oklahoma City, OK, passed away August 3, 2015. Hazel was born March 10, 1919 in Grandview, TX. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond E. Newman; parents, Amanda Strange and Walter Ricketts; brother, Jack Ricketts and sister, Dorothy King. Hazel was a member of Village Baptist Church, Oklahoma City, OK. Hazel is survived by her son, Dan Newman and wife Sara of Oklahoma City, and daughter, Jeannine Bell of Boston, MA; grandchildren, Scott Newman and wife Carol, Wendy Reed and husband Mitchell, Chris Bell and wife Teresa, and Emily Vineyard and husband Gary. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren, Todd, Hunter and Harrison Hickingbotham; Ethan, Andrew and Alyssa Bell; and Mia Newman; in addition to several nieces and a nephew. Dr. Dan Griffin of First Baptist Church, Lancaster, TX will officiate at her graveside service on Friday, August 7, 2015 at Edgewood Cemetery.
