Obituary

Hattie Evelyn Greene Longen was born on February 5, 1922 in Churchland, North Carolina. She joined the Women's Army Corps (WACS) in 1943 and worked in the Pentagon's Code Room during World War II. She was happily married to Edmund Longen for 50 years until his death in 1997. Evelyn was a talented seamstress, gardener, cook and interior designer. Her priorities were family, faith and home. She is survived by daughters, Monica Knudsen (George) of Bethany and Kathryn Lipton (Doug) of Silver Spring, Maryland; grandchildren, Jillian Fichman (Matt) and Brendan Lipton; Tom (Rachel), Mike, Eric and Arla Knudsen. Special thanks to the staff of Sterling House Bethany, AutumnBridge Hospice and Annie and Cam Sallis of AnnieTrans for their loving care. Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Oklahoma City, 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 11.
