Harold George Penner, was born Jan 01, 1925, and died August 28, 2010. He was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Lena Buller Penner, when Harold was 15 and 17 respectively. Also preceding him were seven brothers: Henry, John R., Frank, Menno, Harvey, Leon, Vernon; and three sisters: Marianna, Lena, and Leona. He is survived by a brother Arthur and his wife Namie, and a sister Clara Dalke, his wife Lavalla, and daughter Mary Ellen and son Harold Glenn, as well as several nephews and nieces. Harold was the 13th child born to his parents. He graduated from Grandview Grade School and Corn Okla. High School. Harold served during World War II in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific theater. On Nov. 8, 1945, Harold married his high school sweetheart, Lavalla Leppke. He retired from the Oklahoma State Employment Security Commission (OSESC) and was a past president of R.O.S.E.S., the retired OSESC employee group. Harold was a long time member of the Village Baptist Church. He was an active member of the local chapter of American Historical Society of Germans from Russia (AHSGR) for many years. Graveside services will be held at 11am, Wednesday, September 1, at the Mennonite Brethren Church Cemetery in Corn, OK.
