Obituary

Gregory Allen Rose aka "BUG", age 61, passed away unexpectedly on December 9, 2024, at his residence in Bethany, Oklahoma. He was born August 22, 1963 in San Antonio, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his father, Billy Marcell Rose and is survived by his mother, Dorothy Melson Rose; sister, Debra Rose Bradley; nephew, Matthew Ingram (Carrie); grandniece, Maisie Ingram; grandnephews, Chance and Ethan Ingram; lifelong friend, Susie Doss and her daughters whom he referred to as his "rent a kids," Amanda Doss Mitcham (Levi), Sarah Doss Cermin and her daughter Hannah Cermin. He also leaves behind his beloved pups, Harold and Maude.

Gregory graduated from Madison High School in San Antonio, Texas, where he participated in Northeast ISD's inaugural agricultural program. Madison's 1981 FFA Dairy Cattle judging team won the state championship and Greg was high individual scorer. He attended Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas and culinary arts school in Austin, Texas. After years in the food service business, he settled into a career in technology sales and support at Dell, Inc.

Greg was a volunteer and supporter of Meals on Wheels in Austin, Texas and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, the Caleb Effect Foundation, and Wounded Warriors.

Greg was known for his fabulous meals, Christmas carrot cake, larger than life sense of humor, a love of lake life, and an avid music and sports fan. His favorite teams were the Houston Astros, Houston Texans and the San Antonio Spurs. He was a best friend to many and a good neighbor to all that knew him.

His family and friends will celebrate Gregory's life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to your local Meals on Wheels or Animal Shelter.

A service to celebrate Greg's life will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at Charleston Methodist Church, 4164 Highway 895, Cooper, TX.  Visitation will begin at 1:00pm with the service following at 2:00pm.
