Gordon "Leon" Smith, born November 2, 1948 in Fort Worth, TX, died July 5, 2015 at OU Medical Center in OKC. He was the son of Gordon Leon Smith Sr. and Ethel Mae Wilson-Smith. A longtime resident of Yukon, OK, he was an avid motorcycle enthusiast, a well-respected mechanic, and gave many years as a mechanic to the city he called home. Gordon was loved by many and was friends to anyone who knew him. He is survived by his loving wife of 11 years, Carolyn Jeanette Smith; his loving children, Anita and Rob Lynn, Nikki and Sparky Edwards, Lori Pressley, Brandy and Robert Johnson, Henry and Tamee Gompf, Jimmy and Rachel Heilaman, Josh Smith, Kenny Watson, Ashley and Josh Billings, Sarah Heilaman, and Tyler Heilaman; his brothers, Danny Smith, Bobby Smith, and James Robert Smith; his two sisters, Opal and Anita Smith; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Viewing will be Friday, 9am-9pm, with family present from 6-8pm at Mercer-Adams, 3925 N. Asbury, Bethany, OK. Funeral services will be Saturday, July 11, 2015, at 2:00pm at Mercer-Adams Chapel with interment in Yukon Cemetery. The family is requesting in lieu of flowers or cards that a donation be made at Yukon National Bank under the name Gordon Leon Smith Memorial Fund to help with costs and medical for his wife, Carolyn.
