Gloria Todd Thompson Marr, of Oklahoma City, OK, passed away after a short illness on July 7, 2015 at the age of 93. She was born on December 19, 1921 in OKC, OK to Jesse A. and Adele Alley Todd. She graduated from Classen HS in 1939 and married Leo E. Thompson, Jr. in 1945. They had two children, Todd and LeAnn. She was a typical stay at home Mom, active in PTA, Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, and many other activities at her church, May Avenue Methodist, and many civic clubs and organizations, including the Northwest Optimist Club. This continued until the death of Leo in 1978. She was then a single mother, especially to LeAnn who lived at the home. During this time, she entered the workforce working many years in the O&G industry and printing cards for J's Hallmark. In 1985, she married James Harold Marr, a widower at her Church. This blending of two families resulted in five grown children, thirteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Affectionately known as "Gran" to her kids and grandchildren, "Papa" and "Gran" instilled the importance of family, resulting in many great years of Thanksgiving gatherings, and most importantly several years of "Gran and Papa's Camp," in which all grandkids old enough to hold their own were welcome. She also volunteered at Deaconess Hospital, delivered Meals on Wheels and played a few rounds of golf and gin with Jim. She enjoyed poker with their Friday Night Poker Group until Jim's passing in 2008. She is survived by her son, Todd Thompson and wife Mary of Tulsa; daughter, LeAnn Graham and husband Scot of OKC; stepdaughters, Marianne Ward and husband Milton of Lindsay, TX and Melinda Compton and husband Randy of Edmond, OK; stepson, James Marr and wife Patty of Piedmont, OK; 13 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, Jess Todd, Jr. and sister, Pauline Robison. Gloria loved her family, friends and Sooner football, but most importantly her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The family would like to thank all her caregivers the last few years at St. Ann's Assisted Living Center and Integris Hospice. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM on July 18, 2015 at Cornerstone United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to Integris Hospice in OKC.
