Obituary

Glennda Louise Main (Jamison), Memaw to her grandchildren, "caught her bus" to be with her husband early Sunday Morning. Glennda was born in Woodward, Oklahoma on May 14, 1931 to Glenn and Mildred Jamison. Glennda met her husband Gerald Main when Geralds family moved in next door. They married in 1948, a year after the Woodward tornado, and were completely devoted to each other. Glennda loved to play piano and began playing at a young age and continued until her arthritis would not allow her to continue. She used her talent to enrich Geralds ministry and together they raised a family. Being a ministers wife was not always easy, but they both believed they could overcome anything if they were together. Those first few years together were hard. Glennda got extremely ill and Gerald had to balance an appointment, Seminary, a newborn, but they persevered and were married for 55 years until his death in 2003. Glennda was more than just a ministers wife. She conducted the children's choir at each of the churches her husband served. She loved working with children so much she worked as a three-year-old teacher after Gerald retired from the ministry. When she retired she joined her husband in founding GLM Fire and Safety. Upon their retirement they loved to travel and spend time with their grandchildren, who they were devoted to and adored. Glennda was a lifelong member of the Evangelical United Brethren and United Methodist Church. Her faith was very important to her and she attended church faithfully. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Gerald Main; her parents; sisters, Vera Lee Robinson and Billie Jamison; and sons-in-law, Roger Cole and David Vaughn. Glennda is survived by brother-in-law, Donald Main and his wife Bonnie of Vici; daughter, Glenna Vaughn of Oklahoma City; and Reverend Gary Main and his wife Chris of Omaha, Nebraska; eight grandchildren, Jenny McGuire (Eric), Terry Cole (Chalinee), Jolennda Cole (Tommy), Christopher Main (Cameron), Kevin Cole (Bonnie), Christene Main, Tessa Svoboda (Mike), Barrett Main (Danielle); and seven great grandchildren, Dylan Cole, Nicholas Marek, Nathan Marek, Ellie McGuire, Elliot Main, Wyatt Svoboda, and Henry Main. She will be deeply missed by her family, her Church family and those whom she had unofficially adopted into her family. Graveside Service will be held at 1:00pm Thursday, June 22, 2023 in Sunny Side Cemetery, Vici, OK. .
