Glenn Christopher Bomhoff died on November 30, 2010, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma with his loving family by his side. Glenn was born on December 16, 1919, in Okarche, Oklahoma, to John and Dora Schroeder Bomhoff. He attended school at St. Johns Lutheran School and graduated from Okarche Public Schools in 1939. After graduation, he attended the University of Oklahoma for one year. He married Ruby Rexroat of Kingfisher, OK, on Christmas Day, 1941. Glenn served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII, in the South Pacific. After the war, Glenn and Ruby moved to OKC where Glenn began employment with Brown Manufacturing Co., retiring after 40 years. He had an extremely strong work ethic. He could also fix anything. If something appeared to be impossible to fix, he figured out how to fix it. God and his family were of utmost importance in Glenns life. He was a sweet and humble man who always smiled and had a twinkle in his eye. He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church in OKC since 1956. He read the Bible many times over. He never talked about other people with one exception politicians. He and Ruby loved to travel, including trips with Nancy and her family to Hawaii and Europe, even at the ripe old age of 88. Glenn and Ruby were blessed with two children, Nancy and Steve. In their later years, they were also blessed with their only grandson, Evan, who always looked up to his loving grandpa, and loved him dearly. Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, sister Flora, and two brothers, Alvin and Elmer. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Ruby; his devoted daughter and daddys girl, Nancy England, her husband Steve, and their son, Evan, OKC; his son Steve Bomhoff, Corpus Christi, TX; and his many dear nieces and nephews. Viewing will be Friday, 9am-9pm with the family present from 6-8pm at Mercer-Adams. Funeral services will be Saturday, December 4, 2010, at 10:00am at Mercer-Adams Chapel, 3925 N. Asbury, Bethany, OK. Burial will follow in Bethany Cememtery. Memorials in his name may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
