Glenda E. Brewer passed away peacefully in her home on August 7, 2011 surrounded by her family at the age of 95. Born in Ironton, MO on October 27, 1915 to John and Carrie Thompson. She moved to Risco, MO in 1930 and married Don J. Brewer in 1936. She is survived by her son, Jeff Brewer and his wife, Rosemary; grandchildren, Keith, Kevin and Kathy Brewer; and eight great-grandchildren, Rachel, Shelby, Daniel and Adam Brewer and Olivia, Ethan, Natalie and Nicholas Cvitanic. Known lovingly as Mamma, Glenda has been a blessing to her family, eagerly caring for her great-grandchildren, cooking, and active in her neighborhood watch program. She was a faithful attendee and volunteer at the Bethany Baptist Church and Sunday school. Working with babies was always her favorite activity. We will fondly remember her Sunday dinners, Tuesday lunches and dressing up for Halloween with Mamma passing out candy and ensuring everyone got one. We will enjoy our memories with her and miss her every day. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to St. Judes Childrens Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Viewing will be Tuesday from 10:00am-9:00pm at Mercer-Adams Funeral Service. Services will be held at 10:00am, Wed., August 10, 2011 at Mercer-Adams Chapel followed by interment in Resurrection Cemetery.
