Obituary

Obituary It is with sadness in our heart and praise in our souls that we share with our family and friends that Glen William Heitman, our loving husband, father, Grandfather, and Great-Grandfather went home to be with our Savior, Jesus Christ on August 31st, 2021. He was 67 years old. Glen was born to Robert and Marjorie (Dunham) Heitman on April 17, 1954 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He was baptized on July 4th, 1954 and Confirmed into the Lutheran faith on May 25th, 1969. Glen met his wife of 48 years, Jeannie in 1970 at St. Marks Lutheran Church in Sacramento, California. They were married on June 30th, 1973 and have 4 children, 10 grandchildren and 2 great-granddaughters. Glen served in the USAF for 23 years during both the Vietnam War and Desert Storm. He served in Wiesbaden and Frankfurt, Germany during the Cold War from 1984-1991 when the Berlin Wall came down. After an honorable discharge from the Air Force in 1995, Glen was in the FAA until his retirement in 2014. Glen has loved his Church and has served many ways since his youth as Sunday School teacher, Pioneer Leader, Treasurer and Elder. He had an unwavering faith in God, which he shared with his family and all he met. He joins his parents; grandparents; and 3 of our unborn children who have preceded him in heaven. He is survived by his wife, Jeannie; his children and their spouse, Jeremy and Joy Heitman, Jennifer and Brian Mitchell, Jason and Jennifer Heitman, and Jessica Heitman; also by his grandchildren and their spouses, Jason and Dani Heitman, Ryan and Dawn Heitman, Sheyenne and Cade Brown, Brian William, Janie, Jenna, Jaclynn, Serenity, Jordyn and Emma; Glen was blessed two more times with great-granddaughters, Elaina and Charlotte Heitman; Glen too was survived by his brothers and their wives, Jerry and Denise Heitman, Gordon and Dani Heitman; by his sister, Gloria; and he was loved and survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews. Glens favorite scripture verse was Joshua 24:15 As for me and my household, we will serve the Lord. Viewing will be Sunday, September 12, 11am-8pm with family present from 1-4pm at Mercer-Adams Funeral Service. Service will be Monday, September 13, 9:30am at Messiah Lutheran Church with interment at 1:00pm in Ft. Sill National Cemetery, Elgin, OK. .
