Gladys J. McClain, 99, born June 17, 1911 in Spencer, OK, died October 4, 2010. She was a lifetime resident of OKC and was loved and respected by many members of her family and friends. She was employed throughout her life at several businesses in OKC including Mistletoe Express, OK State Tag Bureau, and several years as a church secretary at Putnam City Baptist Church. Most of all, she was a loving Christian wife, mom, grandmother, good friend, and homemaker to her family. She enjoyed caring for her family and friends and would often have them into her home to enjoy her special home cooking. Frequently, on Sunday evenings, she would prepare one of her special cakes or pies for folks to come by and enjoy after evening church services. Gladys was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence McClain. She is survived by her daughter, Judy Reynolds of Wellton, AZ; sons, Larry of Plano, TX, Ken of OKC; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Baptist Childrens Home, 16301 S. Western, OKC, OK 73170. Memorial Services for Gladys will be held at a future date.
