Obituary

Gerald Ray Glazener, 80, went to be with the Lord on January 12, 2012. He was born February 25, 1931 in Ardmore, Oklahoma to Clyde and Gertrude (Lyles) Glazener. Gerald entered the U.S. Air Force in 1950. While on active duty, he was stationed in England and performed the duties of an aircraft mechanic. Upon completion of active duty, he entered the Oklahoma Air National Guard at Oklahoma City working on F-86s. Gerald concluded his service with the OKANG in 1981 as Lt Col Glazener, Commander of the 137th CAMSq. He was recruited to join the Air Force Reserve at Tinker AFB as a Disaster Preparedness officer. Gerald retired from military duty at age sixty. He was awarded many citations for his outstanding contributions during his forty years of service with the U.S. Air Force. Gerald was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara, parents, and brothers, Sherwood and Dorsey. He is survived by his son, David, his daughter, Jennifer Williams and husband Loy, and two granddaughters, Allison and Abigail. Services will be held Thursday, January 19, 2012 at 1:00pm at Mercer-Adams Chapel with interment in Chapel Hill Burial Park.
