George T. Hardy passed away on Jan. 16, 2017, with his beloved wife of almost 50 years by his side. Born in Wagoner, OK, he graduated as salutatorian from high school in Okay, OK in 1956 where he was also class president. He then served in the U.S. Air Force as a radio repairman, stationed in SC, Panama and Morocco. After the military, George moved to Oklahoma City where he began studying business and accounting at night at the Univ. of Central OK while working during the day at Western Electric. After completing his degree in 1973, he continued as an accountant at Western Electric where he worked for the next 36 years.
In 1967, George married his wife, Glenda, and they enjoyed a wonderful marriage until his death. He was a devoted husband and father who enjoyed coaching his sons baseball teams. He loved to spend time with his grandsons and go camping and traveling in his RV, eventually visiting all 50 states.
Preceding him in death were his parents, 7 sisters and 1 brother.
He is survived by his wife, Glenda, and children: son, Steven D. Hardy and his wife Robin of Denver, CO, and daughter, Angela Rene Lee and her husband Daniel of Milwaukee, WI; grandchildren, Everett Nathaniel and Ethan Morgan Lee; sister, Geraldine Randall and her husband Bruce; sister-in-law, Billie Gilliland; nieces, nephews and numerous extended family and friends.
