Genevieve Irene Baker passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 8, 2013 at Good Samaritan Four Corners Village, in Aztec, New Mexico. Genevieve was born on Oct. 15, 1917 in Drumright, Oklahoma, an oil boom town. She married her high school sweetheart, Edward J. Baker, in Sept. 1937. Ed passed away in Dec. 1992. They had two children, Edward Baker and Carol Baker Kimsey, six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. She leaves behind many great friends and other relatives. Genevieve was very active in her beloved Council Road Baptist Church in Oklahoma City. For 40 years, she worked and managed the nursery dept. there. After she moved to New Mexico, Genevieve quickly became a valuable member of Good Sam's residents. She was proud to lead exercise classes for the residents in her assisted living wing and spent many hours visiting and assisting with nursing home and long term care patients. Graveside services will be Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at 2:30pm in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens
