Gene Ellis Jones, 79 of Oklahoma City, passed away November 21, 2010. He was born December 18, 1930 in Pryor, Oklahoma, where he lived for 40 years. He was a retired hardware salesman and owned Jones Hardware for many years. He attended OSU and graduated with a B.S. in Business Mgmt. He married his high school sweetheart, Sara Ruth Jones, on September 2, 1949. He was an active member of Northwest Christian Church in Oklahoma City and received great joy from his dancing clubs. Preceded in death by his parents, wife, and grandson Nick, he is survived by 3 children, Deborah Taylor, Paula Howerton and Ellis R. Bud Jones; brother James A. Jones; grandchildren Chris Taylor of OKC, Sara Elizabeth Miller, Brandon Harris and Ryan Jones of Texas; and 5 great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be Wednesday, November 24, 2:00 p.m. at Northwest Christian Church in Oklahoma City. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
