Gene Fredrick Allen, 90, died June 23, 2011. He was born Oct. 4, 1920 in Whitesboro, TX to Fred and Virgie (Gassaway) Allen. He served as a United States Navy Chief Pharmacists Mate. A graduate of the University of Oklahoma College of Pharmacy, where he was a lifetime member of the Alumni Assoc., he owned and operated a pharmacy in OKC. He loved OU football, boating and fishing. He thought his family was his greatest achievement. Gene was preceded in death by his wife, Lena Mae, and siblings, Mary, Bertha, Ruth and Homer. He is survived by his daughter, Paula Myers and husband Wayne; sons Curtis and wife Tracey, Mark and wife Chriss; grandchildren, Shelley, Denise, Katherine, Curtis Jr., Harry, Gabe and Jake; and great-grandchildren, Hannah, Tony, Natalie, Haley, Joseph, Alex and Christopher. Memorials may be made to Special Olympics. Services will be Monday, June 27, 2:00pm at Mercer-Adams Chapel with interment in Resurrection Cemetery.
