Gaylen Maurice Brown Sr, 63, was born in OKC, OK on May 21, 1954 and departed this life on July 23, 2017. He was the youngest of 7 born to Frank and Zelma Brown. In the early 70s he met his beautiful bride, Debra Coffey, and they were married for 42 years. They had 3 sons together, Gaylen Jr, Bobby Joel, and Benny. He was a truck driver for over 30 years along with his wife for the majority of those years. He had his dog Sadie with him and mom at all times. She even rode on the big truck with them for many years. He loved spending time with his brothers going out to eat breakfast when he was home off the road. He also was a wonderful grandpa to 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He enjoyed watching car racing and going to it when he could.
Gaylen was preceded in death by his wife, Debra, his parents, Frank and Zelma, his 2 brothers, Richard and Bobby Joel, his sister, Charlene, and his sisters-in-law, Barbara and Carol.
He is survived by 2 brothers, Jerry and Gerald; 1 sister, Marie; his sons, Gaylen and wife Treasure, Bobby Joel, and Benny; seven grandchildren, Kelsey, Kristy, Devin, Brooklyn, Lane, Gage, and Lyndel; one great-grandchild, Wyatt Hughey; and plenty of nieces and nephews and in-laws to make this a beautiful family.
On Thursday, July 27th at 10:00am at Mercer-Adams Funeral Service, 3925 N Asbury Ave, Bethany, OK 73008, we will have a celebration of life. There will be a viewing from 6:00 8:00pm on Wednesday, July 26th for family and friends.
There will be a graveside service after the funeral at Spring Creek Memorial Cemetery, 14300 N. County Line Rd, OKC, OK 73142.
