Obituary

Gary Allen Minard, 79, of Bethany, OK, died October 18, 2017 at Heritage Park Nursing Home in Bethany. He was the son of Thomas Allen Minard and Helen Bernice Minard. He graduated from Del City High School, class of 1956. Gary was a railroad conductor starting with the Rock Island Railroad in El Reno and worked in Houston, Phoenix and Sacramento for 20 years. After that, he spent 24 years in building maintenance in Oklahoma City and Dallas. He developed and patented a non-caustic process to clean commercial air conditioning coils. After retirement, he volunteered at Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma. He was an avid basketball fan and played semi-pro in the Oklahoma City area. OU sports, especially football, and Thunder basketball were his passions. He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Deborah, of Bethany; his son, Gary LeWayne and daughter-in-law, Melissa of Kuttawa, KY; brother, Thomas Minard and sister-in-law, Carol of Oklahoma City, sister-in-law, Marsha Minard of Midwest City; two granddaughters; a great-granddaughter; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; brother, Kenneth; son, Ray Allen; and daughter, Cindy Minard Williams. He will be remembered at a private family interment service. A memorial service open to family and friends will be held next month. In lieu of flowers, donations in Garys memory may be given to Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma. Private Services
