Gary Van Johnston, of Oklahoma City, OK, passed from this earth on Monday, August 1, 2022. He was born on June 22, 1950 in Ada, OK. He was a proud US Veteran and also served as a Mason at Siloam Lodge #276. Gary was the son of Allie and Robert (Bob) Johnston. He was married to Sammie Johnston on December 16, 1991. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert Edmond Johnston Sr.; son, John Laymon Johnston; and stepson, Benjamin Thomas Bly. Gary is survived by his wife, Sammie Johnston; siblings, Johnny Ben Johnston, Steven Allan Johnston, and Anita Katherine Whaley Johnston; children, Clint Van Johnston, Rachell Rena Miller and her husband Jeff W. Miller; stepdaughter, Tammie Tapp; grandchildren, Jessica Bly, Ashli Bly, Laken Pike, Austin Thorp, Kegan Thorp, Logan Alexander Howard, Dakota Van Johnston, Daniel Jae Howard, Lauren Rachell Miller, Allison Cathleen Miller, Lyric Ann Johnston, Charlie Jean Johnston, and Tyler Mae Johnston; and great-grandchildren, Sebastian, Bryce, Lucas, Savannah, and Heidi Jo. We would like to thank all the staff at Integris Baptist Medical Center and Integris Hospice House. God saw you were getting tired And a cure was not to be So He put his arms around you And whispered, "Come With Me." With tearful eyes, we watched you Suffer and saw you fading away.
