Gary Wayne Briggs, 57, died April 29, 2015. He was born September 3, 1957 in Oklahoma City, OK to Daniel M. and Margie W. (Davenport) Briggs. He received his Juris Doctorate at Oklahoma City University in 1986 where he served on the Law Review Board. His areas of expertise included housing law, foreclosure and domestic violence, but above all, he simply enjoyed helping others solve problems. His love of helping others led him to be an active member in the Democratic Party where he was a delegate to the state democratic convention in Le Flore County, Oklahoma. He married the love of his life, Rebecca "Becky" Halfmoon on July 14, 2004 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. While he practiced law throughout his career, his passion was cooking. He was devoted to his family, especially his many grandchildren, and great grandchildren and enjoyed cooking gourmet meals for them immensely. "Gare-bear," was a music aficionado and an avid fan of the OKC Thunder. He was a wonderful man, an excellent care taker of his loved ones and will be sorely missed by his family and friends. Gary was preceded in death by his father, Danny M. Briggs and sister, Danielle Gay. Survivors include his mother, Margie Briggs of Warr Acres, OK; wife, Rebecca "Becky" Briggs of Norman, OK; brother, Harold Briggs and wife Jana; sister, Dana Millsap and husband, Rick; stepchildren, Leslie Gee, Stacey Halfmoon, Ashley Hudnall and Joe McNulty; 8 grandchildren, Raven, Kylie, Gabriel, Corinna, Mesa, Harper, Hayden, and Hailey; and 2 great grandchildren, Elias and Kylor. A memorial service will be held Monday May 4, 2015 at 10:00a.m, at Mercer-Adams Chapel with inurnment following at Bethany Cemetery.
