Garrison Lee Taylor made his appearance into our world on the early Friday evening of April 22, 1994, the first and only son of Greg and Angela Taylor, at a midwifery in Oklahoma City. Efficiency was always the key with Garrison, and it was no different the day he was born. He was home by 9:00 that same night.
As a young boy, Garrison (also known as G-man or G) managed to keep himself entertained, beginning with laughing at his mom when she had morning sickness, pouring out her new (and expensive) bath soap (more than once), destroying his dads nearly-completed 1,000 piece puzzle, managing to corral his three large dogs into the playhouse in the backyard, or picking every head off the next-door widows spring tulips.
As a young man, Garrison was dedicated to being the best he could in all aspects of his life: his education, his physical fitness, his credit score. He majored in chemical engineering at OU. His passion for learning was exceeded only by his passion to teach others.
Garrison accepted Christ as a young boy. This would prove to be of great comfort to his mother over the coming years as Garrison grew to test the bounds of the world around him by jumping out of airplanes or experimenting with 30,000 volts of electricity, a bowl of water, and his hand. The videos he posted on the Internet were reflective of his passions and his you-only-live-once nature, ranging from bike ramp fails to lightning storms to homemade dry-ice bombs exploding in the pool.
The source of materials for his "mad scientist"-like experiments was often the treasure he rescued from the dumpster. When he found a discarded TV, microwave, vacuum, or whatever, he would fish it out of the trash, take it home, disassemble it and make something extremely dangerous from parts. He transformed toasters into Tesla coils, rabbit-ears into Jacobs ladders, and used lumber as canvas for Lichtenberg figures. His dad would often joke that Garrison could make a laser gun out of a blender.
He is loved deeply by his parents, Greg and Angela; his sisters, Reagan, Brooke and Maddie; his brother-in-law, Brock; and his cousin, roommate, and partner-in-crime, Blake.
He is survived by his grandparents, Bob and Sue Lancaster, Galen and Pat Taylor; his uncles and aunts, Harold and Cindy Greer, Bob and Jill Lancaster, Richard Lancaster and Will Morgan, Grant and Char Taylor, Geoff and Ann Taylor, Lisa Taylor; his cousins, Morgan, Blake, and Rob Greer; Bergen and Chase Lancaster; Celeste and Karen Gray; Grayson, Garrett, Emma, Emery, and Griffin Taylor; Savannah, Ellie, and Grady Taylor.Viewing will be Thursday, 8am-9pm, with family present from 6:30-9:00pm at Mercer-Adams Chapel, Bethany.
