Garold David Hayes Jr., 84, passed away on December 26, 2024 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was born March 28, 1940 to Garold David Hayes, Sr. and Margret Jean Irwin in Enid, Oklahoma. He married Peggy Hayes on July 31, 1997. David graduated from Northwestern Oklahoma State University. He retired from the Internal Revenue Service after 42 years of service.

David enjoyed sports throughout his life, coaching his son's baseball and basketball teams through elementary and junior high schools. David also refereed basketball for many years at the high school level in the Enid and Oklahoma City area. He was an avid OKC Thunder and University of Oklahoma football fan and enjoyed watching these teams compete. David enjoyed spending time with his sons and grandchildren, watching them grow up into adults.

David was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Larry Joe Hayes, Sr.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy Hayes; sons, Roger Hayes and Larry Hayes and his wife Beverly; grandchildren, Rachael Ranjan and Joshua Hayes; sister, Anne Phillips and her husband Darwin; and many nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed.
