Gail Lynn Amburn January 10, 1935 - December 15, 2013 Gail Lynn Amburn, 78, went to be with the Lord on December 15, 2013 in Oklahoma City, OK. Gail was born on January 10, 1935 in Kansas City, MO to Fred and Leta (Rhoades) Schindler. Gail graduated from Capitol Hill High School in 1953 and, while there, co-founded the first Young Life organization. She attended Oklahoma A&M from 1953-54 after which she went to work at Core Laboratories of Oklahoma City. She married her husband, Gail R. Amburn, on December 22, 1955 in OKC. She was an active member of Putnam City Baptist Church where she enjoyed teaching Sunday classes. She truly loved the church and cherished the fellowship she found there. Gail was a member of the Red Hat Society, participated in bowling leagues, and loved square dancing. She spent most of her adult life as a wife, mother and homemaker and celebrated 57 years of marriage. Gail was preceded in death by her daughter, Deanne Spain and great-granddaughter, Kaitlynn Amburn. Survivors include her husband, Gail R. Amburn, of Oklahoma City; son, Craig Amburn; sister, Thelma Boydstun; brother, Fred Schindler Jr; 4 grandsons, Aaron Amburn, Jacob Amburn, Ryan Hall and Garrett Hall; and 5 great-grandchildren, Jayden, Kassidy, Jordan, Brady and Cameron. Viewing will be Wednesday, 9am-9pm, with family present from 6-8pm at Mercer-Adams, Bethany. Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 19, 2:00pm at Putnam City Baptist Church, 11401 N. Rockwell, Oklahoma City. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, 500 SW 104th, Oklahoma City.
