Gail Reginald Amburn, 92, passed away July 20, 2024 in Oklahoma City, OK. He was born February 19, 1932 in Oklahoma City to Carl and Ruth (Young) Amburn. He graduated from Capitol Hill High School in 1951 and went on to earn a bachelor's degree in engineering from Oklahoma A&M (now Oklahoma State University). He was a proud veteran of the US Air Force, serving his country from 1951 to 1954. Gail married Gail Schindler in December, 1955 and they enjoyed 57 wonderful years together until her death in 2013.

Gail enjoyed a successful career as a mechanical engineer and retired after many years of employment from Western Electric. He was a member of many professional petroleum and engineering organizations. Additionally, Gail was a longtime active member of Putnam City Baptist Church. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Gail was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Gail; and daughter, Deanne.

He is survived by his son, Craig Amburn and wife Jennifer; sisters, Ruby Long and Evelyn Shideler; grandchildren, Aaron Amburn and wife Chrissy, Jacob Amburn and fiancé Sarah, Garrett Hall and Ryan Hall and wife Tricia; and seven great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 10:00am on Thursday, July 25 at Putnam City Baptist Church.
