Franklin Baker Dixon was born at home on July 9, 1939 in Kingfisher, OK to Nolan and Letha (Gritz) Dixon. He was baptized into the Christian faith in 1951 and ten years later he was confirmed and joined Immanuel Lutheran Church in Kingfisher, OK. He graduated from Kingfisher High School and received an associate degree from OSU (Oklahoma State University). Frank married Carla Ann Steele on October 14, 1961 and then in December 1961, he entered into the service of the United States Air Force serving as a meteorologist. Frank and Carlas marriage was blessed with two children, Frank II and Cathie and many years of love and happiness. After four years of military service, the Dixon family moved East of Lutheran Church of Our Savior in Bethany on 24th Street where they lived for seven years making memories. While living there and at their current address on 27th Street, Frank designed aircraft for Aero Commander, later known as Rockwell International and the Gulf Stream. There was a time when he contracted his talents out to LTV in Grand Prairie, TX where he helped in the design of the Stealth Bomber. After working 25 years under the employ of Gulf Stream, he retired, hoping to relax and enjoy life. Frank was a member of Lutheran Church of Our Savior in Bethany for many years. He volunteered at the church taking care of church property and being a friend to many. Frank entered his final rest on Sunday, December 11, 2011 in Bethany, OK. Frank is survived by his wife, Carla Ann Dixon; his son, Frank Dixon II and wife Sherrie of Yukon, OK; daughter; Cathie Townsend and husband David of Greenville, South Carolina; sisters, Doris Burns and Mary Jane McAdams; a brother, Bill Dixon; and six grandchildren, Jenny, Audrey, Beth Ann, Addie, Nick and Natalie; and many friends who will remember how Frank watched the weather, could fix anything, and loved his family. Memorial service will be Friday, December 16, at 1:30pm at Lutheran Church of Our Savior, 6501 NW 23rd St, Bethany, Oklahoma. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lutheran Church of Our Savior, Bethany, OK.
