Francis "Frank" M. James, 80, died May 11, 2014 at home in Bethany. He was born July 2, 1933 in Oklahoma City, OK to Lon and Juanita (Walker) James. He graduated from Sentinel High School where he was an excellent basketball player and enjoyed coaching others in basketball and softball. At a bus stop in Oklahoma City in 1963, he met the love of his life, Linda, who has been by his side for over 50 years. As a trailblazer, he was the first in the tropical plant industry to travel to the Florida coast, where he would select, ship, and distribute plants on the streets of Oklahoma City. His hard work and determination established a successful family business now thriving for over 30 years. If you didn't find him on his riding lawn mower, he would be watching classic western movies or any type of sports, especially OU football. He always prided himself in family, most importantly spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Frank was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Lonnie and Lloyd James; and sister, Dorothy Mills. Survivors include his wife, Linda Kay; children, Deana James, Donna James, Frank James Jr., and Lana Grounds; grandchildren, Danylle, Ashlee, Dustin, Marshall, Shane, Brande, Alan, Lonnie, Jesse, Dane, Jace and Marley; great-grandchildren, Dylan, Austin, Madyson, Baylee, Mileena and Bryce. Memorial service will be Saturday, May 24, 2:00pm at Mercer-Adams Chapel.
