Frances Marie Emmert Purifoy entered her eternal life on August 30, 2009. She was born November 13, 1924 at Kiamichi, Oklahoma, and raised on the family farm outside Talihina. She moved to Tulsa in the early 40s, where she lived until moving to Oklahoma City in 1963. She became a Christian at an early age and her faith was her primary guide throughout her life. She was a member of Putnam City Baptist Church at her death, and had faithfully taught a Sunday School class there for many years. She married Boyd Purifoy on February 26, 1949, and they enjoyed their 60th anniversary this year. In addition to her husband, she is survived by 3 children, Paul and wife Margaret of Oklahoma City, Dennis and wife Cassie of Yukon, and Anita Matson and husband Gene of Oklahoma City. She is survived by 3 brothers, Bob Emmert and wife Jean, Mark Emmert and wife Florene, and John Emmert and wife Janie, all of Talihina; her sister, Patti Atwood of Hodgen; and sister-in-law Helen Emmert of Joshua, Texas. She is also survived by her dear grandchildren: Robin Wall, Rachel Malone, Nathan Purifoy, Kelsey Purifoy, Misty Snider, and James Matson. She leaves also 10 beloved great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and other relatives, and a host of wonderful, caring friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bertha Bryant Emmert and Robin Emmert; 2 children who died in infancy, Janet and Gary; brother, Jack Emmert; and sister, Betty Moline. Funeral services will be Wednesday, September 2, 2:00 p.m. at Putnam City Baptist Church with burial in Chapel Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Putnam City Baptist Church or the American Cancer Society.
