Frances Louise Brewsaugh was born December 26, 1930 in Bristow, Oklahoma. Raised primarily in Colorado, she graduated from Golden High School and attended Pasadena [Nazarene] College in California. Her love of music and vocal talent earned her accolades and appreciation from both secular and religious audiences.
Louise married the love of her life, Herbert Dean Els, in 1952. Together they fiercely loved their daughters, Rosanne and Pam. Herb and Louise also fostered several children and teenagers in their home. Dozens of other individuals became "honorary" family members as they were welcomed into a loving environment by Herb and Louise.
Louise truly adored her three grandsons, Aaron, Andy, and Alex. It brought her great joy to welcome them for week-long stays each summer while they attended SNU Excel day camps. As each grandson married a Godly wife, Louise lovingly opened her heart and home to each of them as well.
Louise's great-granddaughters, Chloe and Jane, brought new life to their "Gammy's" eyes. In fact, one of the last things she did before she passed away was purchase their Easter gifts! Louise considered the privileges of living in the same town and attending Bethany First Church of the Nazarene with her great-granddaughters and other family members a gift from God.
Louise was a true partner in Herb's ministry for more than 60 years, serving as a gifted educator, musician, counselor, prayer warrior, and organizer. Louise's friends and relatives enjoyed her gracious hospitality at gatherings like birthday parties, college study sessions, Bible studies, and family meals. Children with special needs, young adults recovering from addiction, business professionals, and senior adults in retirement centers all benefitted from Louise's friendship and advice. Her love for God and her neighbors called her to serve those whom God placed in her life with excellence.
Louise slipped into eternity on Tuesday morning, April 9, 2019, surrounded by her family. She was 88 years old.
Louise was predeceased by her mother, Georgie Brewsaugh; her father, Virgil Brewsaugh; and her brothers, Harold Ray Brewsaugh and L. V. Brewsaugh. She is survived by her loving family, including her brothers, Wilmer (Hazel) Brewsaugh and Carl (Nina) Brewsaugh; her husband, Herbert Els; her daughters, Rosanne (Phillip) Bolerjack and Pamela (Walter) Els-Tracy; her grandsons, Aaron (Brit) Bolerjack, Andy (Tara) Bolerjack, and Alex (Rachel) Bolerjack; and her great-granddaughters, Chloe and Jane.
