Obituary

Olga Frances Bowman was welcomed into Heaven on May 4, 2021. She loved Jesus and showed her love through music. Frances was born on March 31, 1928 to Marion McFarland and Bette Troutt in Borger, TX. At age 15, she left home to attend Gods Bible School in Cincinnati, OH where she finished high school and continued earning her associates degree. While attending Gods Bible School, she was asked to accompany voice lessons for Donald Bowman. The two fell in love and were married on August 20, 1947 in Newport, KY. Together, they served in ministry as song evangelists. Donald sang and led worship, while Frances sang and accompanied on the piano. When their children were born, they quit traveling full time and served as ministers of music at several churches in the Oklahoma City area. They felt a call to establish a church near 16th & Council and were instrumental in planting Western Oaks Church of the Nazarene. They retired in Branson, MO and served as music ministers at Branson First Church of the Nazarene. During their ministry they made many lifelong friends and changed many lives. In Branson, they had a house on the lake where many memories with children and grandchildren were made. After Donald passed in 1992, Frances continued to serve faithfully in Branson for 10 more years, then returned to Oklahoma City to be with family. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and granddaughter. Survivors include her son, Michael (Lan) Bowman; daughter, Cathy (Jim) Falkner; daughter, Connie McNeil; and son, Mark (Cathy) Bowman. She is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Viewing will be held Thursday, 9am-8pm, with family present from 6-8pm at Mercer-Adams Funeral Home.
