Zelica Florence "Flo" Grant was born on March 30, 1935 in Portales, New Mexico to Zola and Elsie Feland. Two of her brothers, Elmer and Bob, have predeceased her. Her younger brother, Bill Feland, lives in Bethany along with his wife, Mary, who Flo loved as a dear sister. Dwain and Flo were married on a Sunday afternoon, December 13, 1953 in Clovis, New Mexico by Brother Armstrong. They remained devoted to one another for sixty years and provided an example of a Christian marriage to the many young college students who were in their home over the years. They were blessed with the birth of two daughters, Pamela Hannay and Jan Moore. Their five grandchildren are Bronwyn Keive, Devon DeVilling, Bentley DeVilling, Justin Hannay and Ryan Hannay. After being at home and raising their daughters, Flo channeled her energies into a new lovethat of teaching history. She taught at Western Oaks Middle School for thirty years. She loved her students and was loved in return. In the final years of retirement, her devotion to God and His word deepened to a new level. Her sweet spirit touched the nurses, therapists, and caregivers. Everyone loved her, especially her family. Viewing will be Thursday, 10am-9pm, with the family present from 6-8pm at Mercer-Adams. Services will be Friday, December 13, 2:00pm at Bethany First Church of the Nazarene with interment in Bethany Cemetery.
