Everett (Sandy) Erwin, born July 5, 1921, was carried to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 27, 2011. He was born in Chickasha, Oklahoma to Mr. and Mrs. Samuel and Nora Erwin and grew up during the Great Depression of the 1930s. He attended the Methodist Church as a boy where he came to know the Lord. He served with honor during four years in WWII. He graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1950 with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. He then began work in the oil and gas industry which he continued until the end of his life. He married Laura Jo Hamilton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Hamilton of Lindsay, Oklahoma. Their marriage was a treasure of beauty for 56 years. He attended the Baptist church with his family for many years and led his daughter to Christ. He greatly appreciated Scope Ministries of Oklahoma City as well as Rapha Counseling Ministries. He was also associated with several Baptist churches and his membership letter still remains at First Southern Baptist Church of Del City, Oklahoma. He is survived by his wife, Laura Jo, of the home; one daughter, Evie Jo, of the home; and brother-in-law, Frank Cowles, of Laguna Woods, CA. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Beatrice Cowles. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Alvin Hamilton and his wife Cledith, of Maysville, OK; a niece, Janet Saline and her husband Ken, of Mesa, AZ and their two sons, Troy and Scotty; a nephew, Allen Hamilton and his wife Karen; as well as Jan Hamilton, and a great-nephew, Bobby Hamilton and his wife Megan and their daughter Blair. He was a man without prejudice. He leaves a gap that can only be filled by God himself. He died with many tears and great peace. He was the Moses of his generation who loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ with all his heart, soul, mind and strength and his family more than himself.
