Obituary

On Friday, December 20, "Boot" passed away peacefully in his bed and reunited with his mother and father in heaven. He was the son of Bobbie Jo and Ralph Ardell Blasingame, born September 7, 1954, in Floydada, TX. The family moved several times until, in 1961, the family made Bethany, Oklahoma home. Everett graduated from Putnam City West High School in 1972. In 1975, he began employment at Putnam City schools working under his parents as a custodian. 15 years later, in 1990, Everett was promoted to the title of Maintenance Director for Putnam City Schools where he held that title until the time of his death. Everett loved his job. He never missed a day of work and took a lot of pride in always being available 24/7. Everett developed lifelong loving relationships with everyone at Putnam City from administrators to employees, principals, teachers, custodians and building and grounds crew. Everett enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. Autumn was his favorite time of year because it meant watching football with his son, holidays and making the meanest pot of chili and chicken noodle soup. Everett was a family man. He loved his family and loved having the house full of his children and grandchildren. Everett also took a lot of pride in his yard and made sure it was the greenest in Bethany. In 2003, his daughter, Amanda, gave birth to a one of a kind character, Zac. Zac and Everett were inseparable. "Pappaw" would show Zac off every chance he got. Everett is survived by his sister, Charlotte Dunning and her husband Mike "Old Goat" of Yukon, OK; brother, Alan Blasingame of Mangum, OK; daughters, Rachelle Brooksher of Norman, Amanda Fenno of Yukon; Lissa Blasingame of Bethany, Star DeWolf of OKC, Sara Lynn of OKC; son, Everett Jr. and his wife Candice of Yukon; nephews, Brian, Justin, and Jeremy Dunning, Shawn Blasingame; nieces, Lana and Sara Blasingame; as well as 8 beautiful grandchildren. Pappaw, daddy, boot or boss, he had many titles. He will be remembered for his dignity, integrity, honesty, dependability and, most of all, smile! Everett will be loved and cherished in remembrance forever and always. Memorial service will be Friday, December 27, 4:00pm at Mercer-Adams Chapel. Memorial Service Friday, December 27, 2013 04:00 PM Mercer-Adams Chapel 3925 N. Asbury Bethany, OK 73008
