Evelyn Bushree White was born May 16, 1928 in Sayre, Oklahoma. She was the older of two children born to Harry and Floy Bushree. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Christine Richardson. While attending high school in Sayre, she participated freely in basketball and other school activities. During her junior and senior years, she worked as the night operator for Southwestern Bell in Sayre until graduating in 1946. She left Sayre after graduating from high school to attend college at the University of Oklahoma. She was later reengaged by Southwestern Bell in Oklahoma City in a clerical capacity. She subsequently became a Service Representative and was ultimately promoted to the position of Customer Service Supervisor. In August, 1954, Evelyn married Tom White, a fellow Southwestern Bell employee. In 1955, they were blessed with their first child, Elisa. Shortly thereafter, in February 1956, Tom was transferred to St. Louis, the first of many subsequent moves. In July, 1958, they moved back to Oklahoma City, where their second daughter Holly was born in February, 1959. Evelyn and her daughters accompanied Tom on still another move in December, 1961this time to Dallas, where their son Paul was born in December, 1965. The next move was a return to St. Louis in September, 1970. Their final relocation was back to Oklahoma City (for the 3rd time) in December, 1972. After each of these moves, Evelyn promptly joined the PTA and the nearest Christian church. In 1980, Evelyn accepted the position of Registrar for Putnam City North High School, where she worked for 10 years.
