Beloved and devoted mother and grandmother, Evelyn Blanche Simmons, 81, passed away in her home on June 29, 2020 surrounded by family. Evelyn was born September 23, 1938 in Pawhuska, Oklahoma to Mildred (Bradley) and George Kirk.
After raising her children, Evelyn took over her fathers, Charles Jenkins, oil and gas business that operated out of Blackwell, Oklahoma. She enjoyed spending time with her family and attending services at Bethany First Church of the Nazarene. She was an avid reader and loved to listen to Mickey Gilly.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her mother and father, Mildred and Charles Jenkins; siblings, Jerry Kirk and Tommy Kirk. She is survived by her two children; daughter, Linda Kegans and her husband Randy; son, Perry Simmons and his wife Traci; sister, Peggy Colbert; brother, Art Kirk; 3 granddaughters, Jennifer Walker, Courtney Kegans and Aubrey Davis; 1 grandson, Matthew Long and his wife Elisha; 5 great grandchildren, Trenton, Jaxon, Jailin, Gabriel, and Fiona; and her many nieces and nephews.
Her family will lay her to rest at Rose Hill Cemetery in Oklahoma City, but no services have been planned at this time. A memorial donation, in lieu of flowers, can be made to a charity of your choice.
