Evelyn Alice England, 86, died peacefully on March 22, 2011, in Norman, OK with her sons at her side. Evelyn was born on June 1, 1924 in McLoud, OK to Edwin George and Alice Rutherford Horne. She moved to Oklahoma City at a young age, graduated from Classen High School, then attended business school. Evelyn married the love of her life, Collis B. England, on Christmas Day, 1944. They were the proud parents of three sons: Steve, Larry and Patrick. Being involved in their sports activities was always a busy and fun time in their household. She became quite the avid sports fan throughout her life. She and Collis were OU season ticketholders for 30+ years. After Collis died in 1996, she moved to Norman and spent over 10 years as a Norman Regional Hospital Auxiliary volunteer. Her life was dedicated to taking care of her family with much love and devotion. She also cared for and loved her dogs. Evelyn had a beautiful smile and genuinely cared for others. She always let her loved ones know how much she loved them and how proud she was of each one. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Collis, and granddaughter Angela Brooke England. She is survived by sons, Steve and wife Nancy, Larry and wife Julie, Patrick and wife Dawn; her six dear grandchildren who loved their Mamaw very much: Avery Rhodes, Gregory England, Jeffrey England, Melissa Blakemore, Hope England, and Evan England; her five great-grandchildren; sister, Vera Schimmel; brother, Dr. Edwin G.
