Eunice May Wiens Seaton was born in 1924 in Floris, Oklahoma, and died on September 21, 2019, in Bethany, Oklahoma. She was the seventh of twelve children born to Jacob and Katie (Kroeker) Wiens, whose Mennonite families had emigrated from Southern Russia. She is survived by her children, Stan Seaton and wife Diana of Oklahoma City and Carolyn Seaton Ickow and husband Marvin of Silver Spring, Maryland; her grandchildren, Scott Seaton, Stacia Seaton Sams, Shane Seaton, Sara Ickow, and Lily Ickow, as well as five great-grandchildren; and her one remaining sibling, Lillian Altes of Oklahoma City. After graduating from high school in Liberal, Kansas, she worked for Boeing Aircraft in Wichita, Kansas, among a cohort of "Rosie the Riveters." She was first introduced to her husband Norris Seaton through airmail by her brother, who was serving with him in World War II in England. After corresponding throughout the war, they met in person and married in Wichita in 1945. They raised their two children in Oklahoma City, where she was a homemaker. Eunice was preceded in death by her husband in 2002.
Her interests included gardening, traveling, teaching a Sunday School class of four-year-olds, playing board games with her grandchildren, and Bible study. She became a leader of Bethel Bible Study. For many years she participated in Bible Study Fellowship and was a faithful attendee of Womens Bible Study at Bethany First Church of the Nazarene. Her sweet smile and quiet spirit will be missed by many. Her family is especially grateful to the staff at Southern Plaza.
