Etoy S. Fowler was born to James and Mamie Smith on July 19, 1915 at their farm in Bennington, Oklahoma. She went to her eternal home on June 15, 2009 at the age of 93. She was a resident of Bellevue Health Center at the time of her death. She worked as a machinist running a lathe in the shipyard at Orange, Texas during WWII. She was a long time resident of Duncan, Oklahoma where she worked in the family business. She was also active in the Baptist Church, Camera Club and Garden Club. After the death of her husband, David A. Fowler, in 1970, she continued to run the family business before moving to Oklahoma City in the mid 1970s. She went to work for C.R. Anthonys as a Sales Clerk in the Lingerie department. She was a long time member of Quail Springs Baptist Church and The Leisure Livewires until her health prevented it. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband David A. Fowler, her brother Knox Smith, and sisters Vera Ballard and Jo Shaffer. She is survived by daughters Judy Fowler, DeeAnda Frisbie and husband Dan, all of Oklahoma City. She is also survived by grandchildren Lela Frisbie, Ross Frisbie and his wife Abby; great-grandson Landon Frisbie, all of Oklahoma City; 2 nephews, Jim and Reg Ballard; and 3 nieces, Shawn VanCleave, and Susie and Janet Smith. Services will be Thursday, June 18, 10:00 a.m. at Mercer-Adams Chapel, 3925 N. Asbury, Bethany, Oklahoma with burial following at Duncan Cemetery.
