Ernest Francis Delman, 85, passed away July 14, 2011. He was born Oct. 10, 1925 in La Salle, IL to Joseph and Sophie Delmanowski. He died in the comfort and support of his wife of 21 years, Doris. Ernie was passionate about flying and bowling, and will be missed for his sense of humor and constant whistling. He entered the US Navy during the later years of WWII, earning his gold pilot wings and commissioned a Naval Officer. He retired from the US Air Force Reserve after honorably serving for 24 years. After the Navy, he flew for the FAA as a flight check pilot until retirement in 1984. Ernie was preceded in death by his parents; first wife of 39 years, Mary Grace Dovi; step-daughter Terry Rees; and granddaughter Rachel Delman. He is survived by his brother, Ron Delmanowski of Phoenix, Arizona; brother, Joe Delmanowski of Manteca, California; sister, Judy Rigby of LaSalle, IL; son and daughter-in-law, Craig and Elena Delman of El Paso, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Kim and Linda Delman of Albuquerque, New Mexico; son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Kathleen Delman of Morgan Hill, California; step-daughter and son-in-law, Leslie and Mike Downey of Oklahoma City ; step-daughter Cathy Korell of Edmond; step-son Mitch of Sacramento, California. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. Last but not least, he is also survived by his bowling buddies and Rosie, their dog. A wake service will be held Sunday, July 17, 7:00pm at Immaculate Conception Church, 3901 S.W. 29th, OKC. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, July 18, 10:30am at Immaculate Conception Church with interment in Resurrection Cemetery.
