Emma Jean Dobbs peacefully passed away July 15, 2009, on her 90th birthday. She was born July 15, 1919 in Claude, Texas to Harvey and Edith Munsell Mobley. She moved to Oklahoma City in 1935 and married Carl Lee Dobbs on October 7, 1940. She lived in Houston and San Antonio, Texas during WWII. Upon returning to Oklahoma City, she worked for Hugh Hackney Pharmacy for 14 years and attended Capital Business University. She retired from Montgomery Ward Cosmetics Department after 20 years of service. She has been a member of the Church of Christ since 1933 and attended the Cherokee Hills congregation. She was predeceased by husband, Carl, brothers Jack and Bill, and sister Winona. She is survived by brother John Mobley and wife Louise; daughter Carol Minard and husband Tom; son Mark Dobbs; grandson Michael Burdick; multiple nieces and nephews; and a host of cousins. Jean loved and embraced her family. The family would like to express their thanks to Care Plus Home Health, Clare Bridge Cottage South and Crossroads Hospice. Services will be Saturday, July 18, 10:00 a.m. at Mercer Adams Chapel, 3925 N. Asbury, Bethany, OK. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery, Tuttle, OK.
